Chain position 05
Leaving London
Trading a London house for more space outside the M25.
A London loading problem at one end and a country access problem at the other, usually with a chain running through the middle.
What this position changes
The London end is the hard end: no driveway, a controlled parking zone, a narrow terrace street and a vehicle that has to be suspended into a bay.
The destination end brings its own questions — a long private drive, a village lane, a gate a lorry cannot pass — and those need checking before the vehicle is chosen, not on arrival.
A longer run means the hold in a completion-day chain is more expensive to get wrong, because there is no depot around the corner to fall back on.
