House London Removals

About

One job, done properly

London has hundreds of removal companies and most are built around the city's dominant job: a flat, two rooms and a Luton van. We are built around the other one.

Why only houses

Because a whole house in a chain is a genuinely different operation, and treating it as a bigger version of a flat move is how completion day goes wrong.

A flat move is a lifting problem. A house move is a lifting problem wrapped inside a legal one: your things have to be out before your buyer is entitled to the property, and in only after funds have cleared and keys have been released. Neither event is under anyone's control, and everything you own sits on a vehicle in between.

That gap is the whole job. It is why we ask where you are in the chain before we ask how many bedrooms.

What we do differently

We give you the day in writing. Not an hour-by-hour plan, which would be fiction, but a sequence with the trigger for each stage and a stated answer for the stage that fails.

We arrange where the vehicle stands. In London you cannot simply park a loaded removal lorry and wait, and the crew stays with your load rather than going off to another job.

We settle the contingency at the survey. What happens if keys do not come is agreed and priced before the day, so it is a plan rather than a negotiation conducted by phone while your children sit in the car.

We handle the boroughs. Parking suspensions at both ends, usually in two different boroughs with two different systems. It is the part of a London move people least expect and most often discover too late.

What we are not

We are not the cheapest quote you will get, and we are not an hourly-rate man-and-van operation — there are good ones in London and if that is the job you have, you should use one.

We also will not tell you what time your furniture will arrive on completion day. Anyone who does is either inexperienced or managing you, and you will find out which at about three in the afternoon.

How we would like to be judged

On whether the day was calm. Whether the crew was still with your load during the hold. Whether anything was broken. Whether the beds went back together before dark. And whether, when something slipped, somebody already had an answer.

Tell us where you are in the chain

Where you are moving from and to, how many bedrooms, and whether you have a date yet. Even an uncertain date is worth telling us about.
